Recorders
Become part of the art this summer as the MCA presents Australia’s first solo exhibition by one of the world’s favourite interactive artists, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, as part of the Sydney International Art Series. As a ‘crowdsourced’ show, you’ll be encouraged to leave traces of yourself, such as your heartbeat, the sound of your voice or images of your fingerprints. Offering an exciting first glimpse at one of the Museum’s refurbished galleries ahead of the opening of the new and expanded MCA in March 2012, this free exhibition features 12 recent artworks, including two new works made especially for Sydney. Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Recorders is part of the Sydney International Art Series, bringing the world’s most outstanding exhibitions to Australia. It has been made possible with the support of Destination NSW. www.mca.com.au/recorders Admission to Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Recorders is free.
While building work continues on the new MCA, entry to this exciting first glimpse of the Museum’s refurbished galleries is via 140 George Street only.
