Memory, Myth and the 1/4 acre block

The suburban landscape, be it outdoors or inside, is the staging ground for Kozka’s re-enactments. Through elaborate tableaux photographs, the artist explores memory and remembered moments of growing up in suburbia, playing on the ambiguity of fact and fiction and the human ability to recall a scene or happening. Kozka’s photographs are partly truth and partly myth, and explore how memory can confuse and at the same time assure one’s construct of a story.
