Alfonso Puautjimi, Kapala – Boat,
ochres and binder on paper, 2010.
19 October to 2 December
Featuring the works of 10 established and emerging Aboriginal artists from three Art Centres in the Northern Territory: Mwerre Anthurre from Alice Springs, Ngaruwanajirri Inc from Bathurst Island and Julalikari Arts from Tennant Creek.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Artback NT and curator Penny Campton. It celebrates the ongoing production of good, strong and powerful art by these artists and reflects traditional and contemporary subjects through both painting and drawings. Although living with various forms of disability, the artists represent the strength and knowledge of their community and people and through their work maintain connections to their country.
